Teaching Style

Claudia has taught many successful students over the years, helping them to win awards in the Kiwanis Music Festival, the Kiwanis Provincial Finals, the ORMTA Zone and Provincial Competition, the Canadian Music Competition, the Royal Conservatory of Music Gold Medal, and to earn many RCM exam results of First Class Honours with Distinction. As an active performer, she is able to pass on first-hand performance experience and expertise in a way that allows every student to reach their full potential. As a former Kindermusik teacher and a mother of two sons, Claudia relates to young musicians in a very nurturing way, respectfully encouraging them to do their best. She uses humour to creatively inspire her students and make each lesson memorable, exciting, and fun. Claudia feels her greatest success as a teacher is that all of her students graduate with a true love of music and a lasting sense of accomplishment.

Colin has taught a wide range of students, some who have gone on to study at the university level in Canada, as well as Juilliard and the Berkeley School of Music. Several have become professional musicians in Canada, United States and Europe. All of Colin’s students, regardless of aspiration, are treated as individuals with specific musical interests and needs. Teaching programs are tailor made to suit each student, whether this means advanced theory and composition, RCM exam preparation, adult refresher keyboard for pleasure, or the young beginner pianist. The thread that links all these students together is a genuine desire and a proven track record of imparting a love of music that lasts a lifetime.
